Keep Calm, I’m coming to America

This is a bit of a different blog post, as it is not an informative one but a personal one.

When I started blogging 4 years ago, I had no idea what would happen – I just knew that I wanted to share my coaching experiences with others in the hopes that it would make coaches/players/myself better. I never dreamed that, 4 years later, the blog would be getting almost 1 million page-views a year.

And I am still dumbfounded by the success of my book – what was essentially a journal of ideas that I have found useful in my teaching has become a best-seller in 5 different countries. I still can’t believe the positive emails I receive from other teaching pros and players – I appreciate every single one of them and never thought the book would have such an effect.

It’s crazy to think of the opportunities this game has given me. As a golf coach, I have managed to work in England, Scotland, Austria, Gran Canaria and Spain – and lucky enough to work with some awesome colleagues. And now the game has given me another amazing opportunity.

That’s right! A few months ago, a coach that I highly respect (Don Parsons) contacted me looking for someone to run his new coaching program. It has always been a goal of mine to work in the States, and there probably isn’t a better place to be than California. Better still, Santa Barbara is one of the best cities in the states.

So the next chapter in my life is an amazingly exciting one – I get to work with two awesome guys in one of the best places in the world, teaching golf. I think we will make a great team, and I look forward to learning from them and discussing ideas daily.

I am a very lucky guy to be able to do what I do and have the experiences I have had. And I know that this next experience would not have been possible without the help of several others. So a massive thanks to my Parents, Laurence Brotheridge, Lee Stent, Gloria, Anthony McCarthy Martin Hall, Derek Ingram, Chris Como, Grant Waite, Jon Wallett, David Leadbetter, Steve Orr, Billy Mckinney, Iain Highfield, Mark Crossfield and Matt Lockey – I literally wouldn’t be doing this without your help.

Also, massive thank you to my immigration attorney, Roberta Deutsch for helping the dream come true and having faith that this was a dead cert (when I thought it was an impossibility). You did a fantastic job and gave me confidence throughout the process.

And a massive thanks to Don Parsons for reaching out to me to join your team at Twin Lakes – I think we will all make a great one.

Many Congratulations Adam , thanks for all your help in La Manga, simplifying the game of golf and making it so much more enjoyable. Your book is inspirational and I recommend it to all I meet who are searching for answer through a pragmatic and structured viewpoint.
Best of luck in the USA, Santa Barbara’s gain is La Manga (& Europe’) loss!
Many thanks and hope you have success with your new venture!

Congratulations, I grew up in Southern California and spent a lot time in Santa Barbara staying at friends of the family in 70’s and 80’s. To this day still take my family on vacations there as I have fond memories of my times there. I look forward to checking out Twin Lakes and getting a lesson from you, wish I was close enough to take advantage of the entire coaching program.

Good luck Adam. Who knows Gurmej and myself might just fly out there for a few lessons.

I love your book and paid 39 bucks for your online video. It’s very helpful
Just spent two days with Bobby Clampett. Your stuff is very similar. My teacher right now is Billy McKinney who you know. I get up to Santa Barbara a lot and would love to
meet you when you get there.
